During this year’s EU event European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels, the State of Baden Württemberg, regional partners Aragon, Grand Est and Luxemburg as well as other partners -- including Eucor – The European Campus – are offering a workshop on cross-border cooperation among institutes of higher learning.

The workshop is entitled „Europe in a nutshell - experiences with the implementation of cross-border groupings of higher education institutions“; representatives from Eucor – The European Campus and other cross-border university associations along with policy-makers will discuss the opportunities and challenges of institutionalized cooperation in research and teaching.

The Workshop addresses two different topics: One program point is the significance of science for regional policy-making in border areas; another is the concrete cross-border exchange between universities and research institutions.

Prominent guests are among those in attendance: EU Commissioner Günther Oettinger has volunteered to speak; Minister of Justice Guido Wolf will open the event with a few remarks on behalf of the State of Baden-Württemberg for Europe, and Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Jochen Schiewer, President of Eucor- The European Campus and Rector for the Unviersity of Freiburg as well as speaker for the science pillar for the Tri-National Metropolitan Region (TMO).

The event will be simultaneously translated into German and French. Registration is possible until September 29, 2017 via the European Week of Regions and Cities website.
