Concert at University, Strasbourg (2009, 2010)
"Music, without doubt the best means of breaking down borders and overcoming language barriers, is now becoming part of a confederation which, over two decades, has been in pursuit of essentially the same objective, both coming closer to an ideal which is crucially liked to humanism: to imagine the contours of the Rhine valley without intellectual frontiers". In 2009, this is how Daniel Payot, Deputy Mayor of Strasbourg, responsible for culture, summed up the success of the annual university concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Strasbourg.
Rhenalia: creativity without frontiers
Strasbourg (2008)
Stimulating inter-university cultural exchanges and encouraging artistic creativity were the aims of the Rhenalia Festival achieved through five shows with the Rhine as the common theme. On the programme were: conferences, concerts, readings, slide-shows and prize-giving ceremonies for the winning candidates under the following categories: fine arts and design, theatrical arts, audio-visual, reading/writing and music.
The Eucor Festival
Freiburg (2009)
400 festival-goers, three coaches coming from the partner universities, 200 dishes of a Franco-German-Swiss buffet, and nearly 70 performers were the figures that sum up the Eucor Festival. Thanks to a varied and attractive programme and a good publicity campaign led by student associations of Freiburg and Karlsruhe, student services associations as well as the SKUBA Basel University Student Council, a large number of students were drawn from all the Eucor universities.
Live, love and learn
Mulhouse (2009)
33 photographs by Manfred Zahn showing the different ways of living, imagining and thinking of a handful of Freiburg students and understanding their preoccupations at the beginning of the 21st century formed an exhibition organised by the cultural services unit of the University of Haute Alsace.
