Founded in 1457, the Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg is one of the oldest in Germany and is the scientific center of the Baden region.
With its 13.000 employees, it is also the region’s biggest employer. Tuition in more than a hundred disciplines covers the complete range of fundamental disciplines - social and human sciences, medicine, physical and natural sciences - and includes applied technical disciplines. The University Clinical Hospital is one of the largest in Germany.
