Discover the Vauban district in Freiburg - one of the world’s most eco-friendly neighborhoods

The Vauban SDG Tour is located in Freiburg, Germany and aims to explore the sustainable district of Vauban by walking through the area. The main objective of the tour is to discover the Vauban district in Freiburg im Breisgau (Germany), an award-winning flagship example of an eco-neighborhood in Europe. Participants will get an introduction to the district from a sustainable development perspective, introducing the concepts of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is designed for a variety of participants. The only requirement is being able to walk for around one hour and being interested in sustainable development in urban environments.

How can I join the tour?

The tour can be taken individually or in groups, with a format suitable for small groups but flexible to accommodate larger groups. The tour itself was designed using the Action Bound application, enabling interactive guided tours on smartphones. The app can be downloaded on your smartphones. Access is provided via a QR code or by searching in the app for “Vauban SDG Tour”. The application guides users to different locations, integrates multimedia content and offers an interactive environment through questions and quizzes. The tour can be taken without a guide at any time, offering flexibility to participants. It is possible to download the tour in advance to not be dependent on internet access.
