KTUR²

Upper Rhine universities, higher education institutions and technology transfer players are creating a trinational network to facilitate the transfer of academic innovations to the business sector. This network will promote the creation of start-ups and support companies – both in terms of employee training and access to innovations from the region.
KTUR² will meet the needs of companies in the field of research and development through various initiatives. KTUR² will:
- facilitate access to innovations from research,
- facilitate access to cutting-edge technologies (infrastructure) from research units,
- develop a cross-border training programme,
- promote entrepreneurship and the establishment of cross-border start-ups,
- facilitate access to innovation support programmes in the Upper Rhine region.
The network is being realised by 12 higher education institutions, including the Eucor universities (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Freiburg im Breisgau, Haute-Alsace, Basel and Strasbourg), the University of Kaiserslautern-Landau and the TriRhénaTech universities of applied sciences (Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Offenburg, Furtwangen, Lörrach, Northwestern Switzerland). The consortium also includes technology transfer players such as Conectus, Grand E-nov+ (the regional innovation agency) and the CCI Alsace Eurométropole. The project is coordinated by the Université de Strasbourg. Eucor – The European Campus participates as associated partner.
The European Union is funding the project with 2.5 million euros in the framework of the Interreg programme. KTUR² builds on the cooperation and results of the previous project ‘KTUR - Knowledge Transfer Upper Rhine’.
