The DialogProTec project aims to develop a biochip process to make the use of chemical pesticides more environmentally friendly. The fungicide consumption in agriculture is a particular focus.
In view of the increasingly weakened plant immunity due to climate change and the spread of new diseases, the question of the ecological balance of plant protection is even more urgent. Conventional pesticides poison the target cell, causing collateral damage. The biochip process aims to identify the specific chemical communication between the pathogen and the host and, on this basis, to be able to develop side-effect-free strategies in chemical crop protection in the future.
