On 1 September 2019, the INTERREG 3.2 project PERSONALIS, a personalised medicine platform for patients with autoimmune diseases, was launched. The project is part of the third specific objective of the INTERREG V Upper Rhine programme, “Increasing the number of applications and innovations developed by cross-border consortia of the Rhine”, which will make it possible to develop a computing platform intended for physicians treating autoimmune diseases. Each project partner will contribute to the construction of this common computerplatform.

PERSONALIS will contribute to the availability of data to improve diagnosis, to better adapt targeted treatments (personalised medicine) and to contribute to the development of new medicines.

The PERSONALIS project is part of an initiative launched by its coordinator, Prof. Thierry MARTIN of the Centre National de Référence des maladies auto-immunes et systémiques rares de Strasbourg (RESO), with the PACIFIC project, a project dedicated to the creation of an new generation innovative center for research and medical care entirely devoted to immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID). This double impetus is the mark of the profound changes that are taking place within healthcare institutions in the field of personalised medicine.

The project is supported by the Science Offensive of the Trinational Metropolitan Region Upper Rhine with 1.5 million euros. The partners are the University of Strasbourg, Universitätsklinikum Freiburg, Universitätsmedizin Mainz and Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz. Eucor – The European Campus and SATT Conectus Alsace are associated partners.
