Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a set of 17 global objectives aimed at addressing major global challenges such as poverty, inequality, environmental degradation, and climate change. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests. Each goal is accompanied by specific targets and indicators to measure progress and ensure accountability.

What are SDG Walks?

Rediscover your city through the lens of the SDGs. An SDG walk is a way to explore a city by focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals. To track cities’ progress toward greater sustainability, SDG walks offer the opportunity of exploring how cities respond to the challenges of sustainability.

Eucor SDG walks

In February, around 20 students from various disciplines at the Eucor universities of Strasbourg, Freiburg and Basel worked together intensively on the state of sustainable development in their cities. In the framework of a hybrid block course at the University of Basel, they created city walks by students, for students. The results of the course are sustainable urban explorations in the three cities or so-called SDG Walks.

Mulhouse Flugzeug Rad Studis
