Upper Rhine Sustainable Food

The ‘Upper Rhine Sustainable Food’ project uses cross-border pilot projects to develop sustainable vegetarian dishes and ready-to-eat meals in collaboration with canteens and the retail food sector. These meals are made from organic and regional ingredients, supporting the creation of sustainable value chains. The project draws on the expertise of the participating Eucor universities: the University of Freiburg im Breisgau, the University of Haute-Alsace, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the University of Strasbourg.

A central goal of the project is to provide food SMEs in the Upper Rhine region with competitive and resilient models that can withstand the challenges of current crises and procurement-related risks. Regional SMEs act as suppliers for these sustainable dishes and ready-to-eat meals, helping to build sustainable value chains and strengthen the resilience of the regional food economy.
