Eight Seed Money projects selected
Two projects in the field of “Teaching” and six projects in the field of “Research, Innovation and Transfer” will be funded within the ninth funding period of Seed Money of Eucor – The European Campus. On 8 December 2025, the Assembly of the university alliance selected the projects based on the recommendations of experts from the five member universities.
For the ninth consecutive year, Eucor – The European Campus has selected joint projects involving member universities in the fields of teaching as well as research, innovation and transfer to cofinance their implementation. To this end, the universities provide an annual budget of 300,000 € in order to promote the networking of scientists.
In 2026, the following projects will receive funding through Seed Money:
Category “Teaching”:
- TriMent Eucor: A multimodal teaching program for medical students on dealing with study-related stress and maintaining mental health in the Upper Rhine region university network
- Deadtrees.earth – From drones to AI: cross-border teaching on digital forest monitoring
Category “Research, Innovationand Transfer”:
1. Physical Sciences and Engineering
- oberRAIN – Observational and Experimental Research network on RAinfall-vegetation structure Interactions in Natural forests using remote sensing
- Solar Photocatalytic Upgrading of Pyrolysis Oil – PYROSOL
2. Life Sciences
- Using nanotechnology for wastewater treatment and biomass upcycling
- Multi-Center and Federated AI-Driven ECG Analysis for Precision Cardiology
3. Social Sciences and Humanities
- Flexible Cities, Rigid Minds? Integrating Cognitive, Decision and Criminological Sciences to Study Feature Prevalence in Urban Safety Perception Across the Adult Lifespan
- Coach the Coaches: Evaluating a Sport-and-Play Intervention in a Federal Asylum Center – Psychosocial Outcomes, mediators and Process Factors
