Eucor Science Slam Competition
The Eucor Science Slam Competition 2026 invites doctoral candidates and early-career researchers from the Eucor universities to present their research in an innovative format beyond traditional academic presentations.
At the heart of the concept lies the creative translation of scientific content into short, accessible and engaging stage performances. Research is not only explained but also told and performed – through storytelling, visual elements, and a conscious use of language and presence on stage. The aim is to make complex content accessible and understandable to a wider audience without compromising scientific rigour.
The format combines workshops and coaching sessions across several locations within the Eucor region. Participants progressively develop their own Science Slam performances, experiment with different forms of expression, and receive continuous feedback to refine their work. Exchange with researchers from different disciplines and institutions is a central component of the process.
Science meets stage
The programme will take place on the following dates (optional):
- Karlsruhe: 25 June 2026 – training | 30 June 2026 – coaching
- Strasbourg: 8 October 2026 – online training | 15 October 2026 – coaching (also open to members of the Université de Haute-Alsace)
- Freiburg: 29 October 2026 – training and coaching (also open to members of the University of Basel)
- Final (Karlsruhe): 1 December 2026
Beyond the development of content and performance skills, the programme primarily aims to strengthen science communication. Participants are given the opportunity to make their research visible outside academic contexts and to explore new forms of dissemination that combine creativity and clarity.
